Aquaprint Sanguine: yellow, ochre and red pouches, VP N°03 Developer and one complimentary PULPØ sheet. Add-ons are selected separately. Aquaprint, the perfect compromise between gum bichromate and carbon printing — the painterly matter of gum, the depth of carbon, without dichromate.

Luminograph A4 · Starter Kit · PULPØ — 900 gsm · 25 × 35 cm (10 sheets) · HD Negative Film — A4
1 year of Calibration Flow Pro included with the Luminograph. Daylight works too, with experience: every line can be unticked, or marked “I already have it” — except the Primer, which comes with watercolour papers.
3 pouches of pre-sensitised mixture, 350 ml each, ready to pour — nothing to add.
Yellow — pouch J
Ochre — pouch T
Red — pouch R
VP N°03 — Developer
1 complimentary PULPØ 900 gsm sheet
Watercolour papers must be primed before sensitising, so Universal Primer N°04 comes with them. It is not on sale yet: mark it “I already have it” if you own some, and these papers open up — or choose PULPØ, which needs none.
Success guarantee
A boxed set on its own, for an equipped studio.
We sell a chemistry kit on its own to studios that can succeed with it: a Luminograph, or the experience and equipment you tell us about. Nothing to prove — one box to tick.

Read the process guideThe Sanguine Aquaprint transposes into photography the red-brown of Italian Renaissance preparatory drawings, a technique Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo used with sanguine chalk on tinted paper. The pure Sienna earth pigment, applied in 2 to 3 layers of VP gum, preserves this immediate warmth of the line without drifting toward pink or sepia. Unlike the cold monochromatic cyanotype or the CMYK four-color of the color kit, the Sanguine sits halfway between drawing and photography: the brush texture remains visible, the contours breathe. It is the only VP kit that explicitly claims a graphic kinship with old master drawing traditions and Fine Arts heritage.
The VP chemistry combines pre-sensitized gum with three ground Sienna earths, typically dosed at 5 mL for an A4 sheet. Exposure runs 2 to 5 minutes per layer under the Luminograph, development in VP N°03 developer then clearing in warm water at 40 °C, exactly like the four-color process but in repeated single passes. Where the Gum Monochrome kit seeks the density of carbon black and the color kit pursues CMYK separation, the VP Sanguine plays on the transparency of red-brown: each layer enriches the previous one without masking it. Dichromate-free reformulation, kitchen-safe practice, like the entire VP Aquaprint range.
